European Solidarity Corps Summer Volunteer

We at Cloughjordan Community Farm are looking for a summer volunteer. This is through the European Solidarity Corps programme. The volunteer placement will last until October. The main requisites are:
– 30 years old or younger
– an EU citizen
– an interest in local food systems

The volunteering is in exchange for knowledge and experience. So no previous farm knowledge is needed.

Also in exchange, volunteer will receive:
– a private bedroom in the volunteer home (all bills covered)
– free veg (of course!)
– free access to training
– a stipend pay per month of €300
– €100 per month to spend on other food provisions.

The hours expected per week is 30 to 36, with 2 days holiday per month, as well as all public holidays. We never work weekends, although occasionally you may be in charge of opening tunnels or watering on either Saturday or Sunday.
